1 oz. Dark Rum
3/4 oz. Southern Comfort
1/4 oz. Lime Juice

Blue Hawaiian

1 oz. White Rum
1 oz. Blue Curacao
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Coconut Cream
1 Orange Slice
1 Maraschino Cherry

Blend the ingredients with ice on low speed, until smooth. Pour into a chilled brandy snifter and garnish with the cherry and orange slice.

Bloody Mary

2 oz. Vodka
4 oz. Tomato Juice
1 tsp. Lemon Juice
1/3 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
3 dashes Tabasco Sauce
1 pinch White Pepper
1 pinch Celery Salt
1 Celery Stalk

Shake or blend with ice, and pour into an oversized glass. Garnish with the celery stalk, and add additional ice cubes, if necessary, before serving.

Variations: Almost every bartender has his or her own variation on this Sunday morning classic. Ideas include: adding a dab of horseradish, fresh or dried dill; substituting a pickled green bean for the celery stalk, using V-8 juice instead of plain tomato juice, or substituting lime for the lemon. Feel free to experiment and create a classic of your own!

Trivia: According to legend, this drink was invented in the 1920's to provide respite for hard-drinking writers who frequented Harry's Bar in Paris.

1 oz. Coffee Liqueur
1 oz. Triple Sec

Mary Pickford

1 1/2 oz. White Rum
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
2 dashes Grenadine
1 Pineapple Slice
1 Maraschino Cherry

Stick fruit together with a toothpick and pour the grenadine into a chilled cocktail glass. Shake remaining ingredients with ice before adding to the grenadine, pouring carefully down the side of the glass to maintain the separate red layer. Garnish with fruit and serve.

Trivia: As pretty as the star who became known as "America's Sweetheart", this drink originated in 1920's Havana, where drinks named after movie personalities were a popular phenomenon.

Old-Fashioned

2 oz. Bourbon
1 lump Sugar
1 Lemon Twist or Slice
1 dash Bitters

Place the sugar in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass and sprinkle with bitters. Add the lemon and a few ice cubes, fill with bourbon, and stir.

Variations: Substitute gin for the bourbon to pour an Old-fashioned Gin; or use vodka to pour a Vodka Old-Fashioned.

Tips: Topping this drink with a twist or slice of lemon is a nice added touch.

Pour the whiskey into a chilled mug. Fill with beer, put on the shirt of your favorite football team, and serve.

Variations: Drink the whiskey as a shot, and use the beer as a chaser.

Bahama Mama

1 1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1 1/2 oz. Golden Rum
1 1/2 oz. White Rum
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
2 oz. Orange Juice
2 oz. Sour Mix
2 dashes Grenadine
1 Orange Slice
1 Maraschino Cherry

Sprinkle grenadine into the bottom of a large glass, such as a tall collins glass, a hurricane glass, or a brandy snifter. Shake together the remaining ingredients and strain into prepared glass. Spear orange slice and maraschino cherry together on a toothpick and use to garnish the drink before serving.
